Tasty And Yummy Kashmiri Dum Potatoes


Potatoes(small) -----------------------------20
Dried,Kahmiri red chillies -------------------6
Yogurt(whipped) -------------------------  2 cup
Cardamom powder ------------------------1/2 tsp
Dried ginger powder -----------------------2 tsp
Fennel powder ---------------------------- 2 tbsp
Cloves(powdered -------------------------1 pinch
Water ------------------------------------ 1 cup
Salt  --------------------------------------2 taste
Oil -------------------------------------- 1/4 cup+for frying
Cumin seeds ------------------------(roasted and powdered)
Hot spices powder --------------------  for sprinkling

  • Soak red chillies in water for a little while and grind.
  • Peel potatoes and pierce holes with a fork.
  • Pot salt on potatoes and keep aside for a little with
  • Heat oil in a pot and fry potatoes golden ; remove.
  • Mix yogurt,ground chillies paste cardamom , dried, ginger and fennel. .     
  • Heat oil in a pot;add cloves water and salt.
  • Bring to boil ; add yogurt mixture and bring to boil again.     
  • Add potatoes and cook till oil separates.
  • Dish out potatoes and sprinkle cumin and hot spices on top.
